Art of Living

In the third chapter of Bhagwat Gita the different stages of life has been discussed. The first stage is “dehatmabodh”, which means the person is under the influence of his casual body the five senses. In this material world every man is a captive of his indriya ( the five cognitive senses). Every man thinks that his body is the real self. It is the Aindriya stage where we are the captive of our bodies and think the real happiness and the pleasure we derive from our five cognitive senses. This physical feeling is very severe. From ancient times we have been giving priority to the outer body as self .

The meaning of considering self as body is considering our body as a accumulation of bone, flesh and skin. In reality this body is nothing but amalgamation of blood, bone, flesh, urine and stool. We think of our self we are thinking about the body- I am beautiful I am young. This bodily realisation is not encompassing and neither is encouraging for true self realization.

Those who are chained with the ego of body realisation should do Dhyaan Yoga Sri Krishna says in Bhagwat Gita (6.13-14) that man should keep his body, neck and head straight and concentrate on the nose. This way the man should meditate about me with courage and shunning all sexual pleasures should make me as the ultimate goal of his life.

Man should bring under control chiefly the pleasure of the cognitive senses and on sexual desires. By meditating in a pure and pious place we have to rise above the body intellect and and reach a spiritual stage. Most of the people live within their casual body but there are persons who live on the mental level. we reach the spiritual level when we rise above the conscious body. Before starting meditation man has to reach the divine stage. This stage is known as the brahmbhoot stage. Spiritualist thinks I am not a body, not mind and not intellect but I am the soul. This is divine state. It is to attain this highest of states in which the individual self dissolves inseperably with the brahm. This state can be reached after crossing the Realization of I, the mental state and the intellectual state. This state is called Brahmbhoot . the symptoms of brahmbhoot are given in Bhagwat Gita (18.54) which are illustrated man is ever happy and smiling., there is no despair. A man attained brahmbhoot does not have any desires neither he mourns for anything. When we do not have a object we desire it and when we lose an object we mourn for it, this is the symptom of realisation of self as body.

Entire world is greedy for sexual pleasure – the main ideology behind desire is the same. Human society, animal society and insect society everywhere sex is important. This is materialistic lifestyle. Pure feeling can come only when there is no tendency to indulge. In Bhagwat Gita Shri Krishna says that if you really reach the pinnacle of divinity through yoga and dhyaan then you should banish sexual desire from within you. But this is not possible in present world, however you can observe that you do not enter in illicit relation. If there is extra marital relation then it is a illicit relation. No civilized society permits this. A man leading a divine life should be away from all mental and body realisations.

In the battle ground of Kurukshetra Arjun told Sri Krishna that practice of Dhyaan Yoga by me is not possible. I am married. I have come here to fight the war for political gains. Arjuna though able from us never agreed to do this.

Therefore in this age divinity through yoga or Hath yoga is not possible. In this age reciting Gods name is the only medium to achieve success. All works are initiated and accomplished with Gods might all materialistic and spiritual world has generated at Gods own will. When we worship God we pray to him that i am a captive of my own body take me higher to the spiritual level.
