After gall bladder removal, can I perform all yoga excercies

skpanda, 14 January 2011 15:35  this question feed

Pranam Gurujee,

I am about 55 yrs of age and about 10 months back I had undergone gall bladder surgery thru laproscopy.

For the last 5 months, I am only doing Anulom & Belom. Now I am very keen to do few more yoga excercises and Pranayam like Kapal Bhati.

Kindly advise.

Pranam

Hello,

As it is already 10 months passed after your surgery, and there is no restrictions for performing yoga and pranayama until unless you have other associated problems for which there is contraindication for yoga. Otherwise you may practice yoga and pranayama.

In order to enhance your digestion and to prevent hyper acidity, and to attain the functionality of gallbladder and to balance acidity levels, you may practice other asanas like Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, Surya Namaskara, and Shavasana.

You can practice meditation like Bhastrika Pranayama, Shitali Pranayama, and Sitkari Pranayama and certain kriyas like Jallundhar Bandha, Kunjal Kriya, and YogMudra in Vajrasana or Padmasana position.

You may consume Hyperacidity Package Medicine.

With regards,

Dr. Vijay.
