Chronic renal failure happens slowly diminishing the function of the kidney. As of now, the creatinine level is very high where it must be less than 1mg/dl normally. Please let me know the other blood reports including the GFR and the Ayurvedic medicines she has been using to guide you further. The ultimate aim of treatment in renal problem is to improve the function of the kidney and to have the blood levels under control. So when it is not under control, you have to do regular checkup with your nephrologist and take the Allopathy medicines prescribed to avoid the progression of the kidney problem. Ayurvedic medicines like Punarnavadi kvath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water can be given which will help to improve the function of the kidney and to improve the haemoglobin levels. Anaemia is seen due to the decreased Erythropoetin as it affects the formation of the red blood cells. Ayurvedic medicines that contain minerals must not be taken for longer intervals and must be avoided when you have poor function of the kidneys. Reduce drinking excess water, proteins and salt. Please do have regular checkups.

Hello Sir,

As your mother is suffering from chronic kidney disease which is related to renal impairment and you must also understand that long term usage of mineral drugs is not advisable. It is not clear on what medications your mother is, but I strongly suggest her to get evaluated by going through all tests and asses the present criteria and based on that appropriate treatment can be given either through allopath or with Ayurveda. Usually at this stage we do prefer herbal medicines which are helpful instead of using Rasa preparations. That too you have been giving her medicines from more than 7 years. It is better to start with simple medications as Kidney has to take load in excretion which will be burden at times and she may get other complications.

Following medications are indicated for her with prescription such as Diva Vrikkdoshhar Kwatha, and Giloy Kwatha, and Jwaranashak Kwath all three to be used in equal quantity, that is 2 grams each to be mixed with 300 ml of water and reduce it to 100 ml and to be taken in divided doses, that is 50 ml twice daily before breakfast.

At this point of time, we do not recommend other Ayurvedic medications. Before proceeding with these medications you can meet Ayurvedic doctor for further assessment.
