Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Weak ear nerves are seen due to the damage of the auditory nerve. It is seen due to loud noise exposure, infections like meningitis or otitis media in childhood. Hearing problems in chilhood period with temporary or permanent conductive hearing loss is seen in acquired infections like mumps before birth or due to progressive, congenital structural malformations. It can be with delayed onset or progressive in nature that the hearing problem is seen later in adulthood. Please let me know the causes involved for your hearing loss and your audiogram reports to guide you further.

Ayurvedic medicines like Divya Sarivadi Vati, Aswagandha Ghrit and ksheerabala capsules- one capsule twice daily after food can be taken for a month and then reviewed. Ayurvedic treatments like nasal medication, filling ears with oil, shiro dhara and head massage will be beneficial.

Include olive oil, avocados, ghee, fish, bananas, artichokes, potatoes, asparagus and broccoli. Reduce excess pungent foods, canned foods, oil, sugar and salt. Try to protect your ears from prolonged loud noise. Practising Pranayamam is also beneficial to improve the sense of hearing.

If you are facing any hearing problem currently, we need to understand the root cause for the same as per your given history, there are chances of sensorineural hearing loss which can be mild to moderate and this is something related to inner ear. As your age is not clear, we assume that your age is in middle age group and you can start with following Ayurvedic medicines which are helpful to improve hearing capacity such as Package Medicine for improving hearing capacity that contains Divya Shilajeet Rasayana Vati, Chandraprabha Vati, Diva Sarivadi Vati these medicines are helpful in improving hearing capacity and also if there are any infections, that can be controlled. Vitamins and mineral deficiencies also lead to low hearing capacity. You need to follow strict diet to improve hearing mechanism including walnuts, garlic, barcolli, soups, etc are very helpful and you may consider taking green leafy vegetables, vegetables which are essential for you and if you are taking non vegetarian food, you can have goat leg soup which is also very helpful.

In Yoga, Bramari Pranayama, Bastrika Pranayama, Anulomaviloma Pranayama are indicated for the same problem including surya Namasarka, Sarvangasana, Paschimottanasana etc.

Aslam-o-Alaikum, Respected Sir, Subject: SUDDEN HEARING LOSS: It is stated that I had attack of mumps round about 1st April 2012. For mumps I took capsule Ribazole 400mg two times daily for 10 days. But after 3 days of attack of mumps I lost hearing from my left ear. There was lot of positional vertigo and tiniutis in my left ear. After removing wax Doctor diagnosed that it is profound degree sensorineural hearing loss. I took tablet Prednisilone 60mg per day for one week after 20 days of my hearing loss recommended by ent doctor of Agha Khan University Hospital,Karachi .Now I am taking tablet Hydergine 1.5mg three times, tablet Cerebex Forte(Ginko Ban) three times, tablet Mecobal two times and tablet Bevidox two times daily. With the use of these medicines after 3 months based on new audiogram now doctor has suggested that this hearing loss is recovered only (10-15)% and it is not expected to improve. But Doctor has recommend me to use the above medicines for next 3 months more. Kindly help me and suggest me any treatment for the rehabiliation of my left ear hearing loss. Hearing loss may be sensorineural in origin. Sensorineural hearing loss is generally caused by vestibule cochlear nerve or VIII Cranial nerve supplying to ear. This damage to nerve or hearing center in brain or hair cells in ear may cause sensorineural hearing loss. The factors which are responsible for sensorineural hearing loss include long time exposure to high sound environment, side effect of various medicines, damage in various diseases, infections or accidental damage to these structures of ear. We recommend you to avoid hg sound area like discotheque etc. Identify the drug you are taking from long time and wear hearing aids for best results. Now a days hearing aids have become so small that nobody can see them. We recommend you to take a regular course of package for Otorrhagia, Tympanitis & Deafness for improvement in your hearing power. A regular course of these ayurvedic medicines is very useful to increase the hearing power and stimulates nerves supplying to ear. These medicines are also helpful in increasing the immunity of ear and to clear the diseases of ear like infections from internal ear. Regular medication is very useful to delay the degenerative changes in body and help I restoring the lost hearing power. So take these medicines regularly and keep your ears dry. Practice bhramri pranaym and shirshasana regularly for almost half an hour in addition to other yogic exercises. Take good diet specially fresh fruits and vegetables.
