Non Obstructive Azoospermia this question feed

Sunny02, 30 June 2017 20:34

Hello Doctor,

Im a 39 year old male with no sperms in my testis. We have a 6 year old son after we did IVF + TESE (when doctors were able to find sperms)in 2010. Performed IVF again last week but doctors say there are no visible sperms in my testis. Even after histopathology lab test, results were negative.

My question is- Is this curable ? If yes, what do you suggest I should be doing ? Kindly let me know the steps I should take , including medications, and pranayam ?How much time are we looking to see any good results ?Please advise as we are running out of time.

Thank you.

Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

Hello, The reports information regarding hormonal levels provided by you indicates low level of testosterone in blood while prolactin levels are normal. The medicines recommended are though different but line of treatment of both physician aims at production of sperms. In case you are unable to find ashwagandha lepa nearby then you can make a paste of ashwagandha powder and applying it locally. The stress levels alter the hormones levels, so it is highly advisable to keep the stress levels lower by performing pranayama like kapalbhatti, bhastrika and bhrahmari pranayama daily. For effective treatment intake of ayurvedic medicines along with conventional hormonal medicines should be taken. Prescribed medicines should be taken regularly for 3-5 months and along with medicines go for regular check ups. Diet should include coriander and black grams which are aphrodisiac in action along with dairy products. Tablet chlomid need to administered again under the supervision of physician to attain normal values of hormones.

Hello Dr Kanika, Thank you so much for your response. Both you and Dr Ramani have different responses. So I got my testosterone & Prolactin level checked yesterday. T is 2.38, Prolactin - 12. Are these two abnormal ?

Additionally, where do I get aswagandha lepa. I couldn't find it on your website, if you can advise ?

Additional information : My first son was born when the doctor in US administered me to Chlomid for a few months. Just for you to know. He kep checking my T levels and ultimately did the TESE.

Thank you

Nonobstructive azoospermia is seen due to harmonal changes, problem with the testicles in the production or due to genetic reasons. I shall suggest you with the basic medicine that will help to improve the sperm.

Ayurvedic medicines like Narasimha Rasayanam - 1tsp before food twice daily, Fortege for Male Infertility and Aswagandha churnam can be taken for 3months and then reviewed.

Include durian fruit, kiwi fruit, celery, garlic, basil, cinnamon, nuts, ginger, asparagus, pomegranate, nut meg, dark chocolate, capsicum, carrot and almonds. Reduce excess refined flour, oily foods, salt, sugar, canned and pungent foods. Try to wear cotton underwear which will be better to maintain the temperature. Yogasanas like navasana, vajrasana, halasana, sethubandasana, padmasana, utkadasana and sukhasana are beneficial.

Hello, Azoospermia refers to the absence of sperms in male semen caused mainly either due to the low production of sperms in semen (non obstructive azoospermia) or presence of any obstruction in passage of semen (obstructive azoospermia). Ayurveda calls it bandhyata and mainly medications can treat non obstructive azoospermia. 1.Divya chander prabha vati - 1 tablet thrice a day with luke warm water after meals. 2.Atirasadi churan- 1 tablespoon twice a day with luke warm water after meals. 3.Capsule shilajeet- 1 capsule thrice a day with luke warm milk after meals. 4.Aswagandha lepa for local application twice a day. In panchkarma baladi asthapan basti is administered to provide nourishment to sperms and to reduce raised vata dosha. Yogic exercises like sarvangasan, padmasan, shavasan, bhujangasan, dhanurasan, utkadasan are highly beneficial.
