Obstructive Jaundice / Cancer this question feed

obstructive jaundice, 29 December 2016 15:24

My father 80 years is fully fit and walks for 2 hours daily . He consumes all Paramjit products in food ( atta , dal), Badam oil , walnut oil , wheat grass etc . No problem till now , no diabetics or blood pressure problem .

Recently his eyes were yellow and when checked bilirubin was high which further checked is due to obstruction in bile duct from gallbladder and spread to some extent hepatic duct . So no bile is flowing to small intestine . Common bile duct is fine .

The mass growth above gall bladder is seemed malignant and seems like small portions moved to liver and lower lungs .this is a complication .

For now , could you suggest some medication to help manage the bile duct obstruction and improve quality of life on priority basis . Also the food intake is reduced almost fully and weakness is there . Eyes and nails are yellow . My father has full belief in Ayurvedic treatments .

Thanks in advance for your advise . Looking forward to hear soon

Doctor's Ayurvedic Advice:-

The treatment and its response will be based on the overall age and the stage of the cancer. As the bile is blocked to flow from the gall bladder, it will cause jaundice and inflammation in the gall bladder due to the stasis of bile. As it has spread, only palliative care can be given. Please follow the advise of your treating physician to give relief with the symptoms. Treatments like radiation and chemotherapy will be advised to treat the primary cause of the malignant tumour.

Ayurvedic medicines like Aswagandha lehyam - 1tsp after food at bedtime Divya Vriddhivaadhika Vati and Triphala churna can be given and it will also support him psychologically. Medicines can be given based on his ability to take them which you can consult with your nearest doctor with his reports.

Include soups, bottle gourd, horse gram, ginger, cinnamon, garlic, berries and turmeric. Reduce excess oil, canned foods, sweet and refined flour. Try to support him emotionally as it will help to overcome the symptoms in a better way.
